⚠️ 2016-2019 TRD Pro owners: If you have the OEM skid plate, use a soft shackle, a 3/4" shackle will interfere with the skid plate.

I have a 2020 off-road with installed skid plate. And yes the tow hook will not fit with the skid plate as is. My solution was to take a angle grinder with a fresh blade and cut out part of the skid plate. I held up the D ring I was going to use along with the tow hook and used a sharpie to mark an outline on where to cut. Since the skid plate is aluminum it's pretty easy to cut with a fresh angle grinder blade. After the cut I also took a metal file and filed off sharp edges and rounded off sharp corners. Then I taped everything off and put a couple of coats of paint on it. Came out looking great.
**Make sure if you use a angle grinder for this that you wear safety glasses as small aluminum flakes will be flying and if you get one of those in your eye you will have a bad day. Also hearing protection as it makes a lot of noise.

I drilled the hole for the extra bolt in the drivers side and it was too easy. I’m happy with the purchase. The ONLY concern I have is that if you DO off-road, they do hang down slightly and can affect your approach angle. It’s not an issue for me, but something to keep in mind.

Excellent Product. Took 15 Min. to install. I provided pictures of the installed recovery point and pictures of the original equipment. The new recovery point is a huge improvement. This install is on a 2022 Tacoma Trail Edition

I love this product so much after installing the passenger side tow hook bracket I immediately ordered the drivers side.. knowing it can actually be used as a recovery point and it's not just another non functional add on. GREAT PRODUCT!
Part was delivered in a reasonable time, but took a little longer than expected. I didn’t realize it was coming from Canada. No installation issues. Have not been stuck yet so haven’t yanked on it yet, but i trust it will work for all but the most extreme situations. Yes, would buy again. Painted it Blue to look cooler.

Nice piece, feels very sturdy, looks great, and it was easy to install. I wouldn't use it to yank your truck, the piece itself can handle it, but the part of the truck it is attached to might not, for towing and assisted recovery its more than enough, smooth pull while you let your Tacoma help the recovery vehicle.

Bought along with the driver's side tow hook to make a pair. Definitely an upgrade from the cheaper amazon option I had previously installed. Now I've got a pair of rated recovery points that are actually useful vs. just for show. Easy install, and solid. PS—Be sure to look up torque settings for your make and model when installing.
